After graduation, I went to Louisiana Tech University where I majored in journalism.
After I got my degree, I worked for newspapers and a radio station in Louisiana before returning to Texas in 1993. Worked as a general assignment reporter for the Seguin Gazette-Enterprise (1993-96) before moving to Victoria where I worked as the police beat reporter and then copy editor/page designer for the Victoria Advocate (1996-2012). At present, I am a newspaper page designer with Gannett, working remotely in North Austin.
